VICTORY BY KO

LYDIA KO basked in her Cinderella moment as she brought a fairy tale to life in a dreich Fife.

The popular New Zealander turned on the style to be crowned the AIG Women's Open champion at St Andrews The two-shot triumph on the fabled Old Course was her third Major success and came just two weeks after winning gold at the Paris Olympics.

And Ko admitted she was struggling to take it all in, eight years after her last Major triumph in California at the Chevron Championship.

The 27-year-old said: "It's been a great few weeks.

"I didn't think it could get any better after Paris.

"But now I am here, having won at St Andrews, and that makes it so special.

"I have loved this week.

When I played here in 2013 I was only 16 years old and I didn't really get to enjoy it.
