FUJITSU'S scandalhit Horizon system is to be kept on in Post Office branches for another five years.The Japanese firm's previously faulty software was behind shortfalls being incorrectly reported on hundreds of sub-postmaster accounts.The mistakes led to more than 900 being wrongfully prosecuted over 16 years.The current Fujitsu contract was set to end by March next year, the deadline by which the Post Office, led by CEO Paula Vennells, inset, from 2012 to 2019, had hoped to replace its IT system.But the deadline is now 2030, Computer Weekly says.Richard Trinder, who runs campaign group Voice Of The Postmaster, said: "It is a possibility that people will be put off buying post offices if they know Horizon software is still installed."
