THE cost of the Rwanda asylum scheme has doubled already - without a single refugee being sent.
A further &pound;100million was handed to Rwanda by the Government this year as part of its deal to relocate asylum seekers there.
The payment was made in April, on top of &pound;140m already sent, said the Home Office's top civil servant Sir Matthew Rycroft. He said another payment&nbsp;of &pound;50m was expected next year bringing the total to &pound;290m so far.
