A HOSPITAL is making it easier for staff to "red card" abusive patients.
The move could see aggressive patients or visitors banned from Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust for up to a year.
The campaign new 'No Abuse, No Excuse' aims to reduce violence towards staff.
Nurse Yvonne Ihekwoakba, who is one of the faces of the campaign, said: "My patient was verbally abusive. I tried to calm him down.
"The next thing I knew I was punched in my stomach."
