AMERICANS are speaking like Brits thanks to telly shows like Peppa Pig and Doc Martin, boffins claim.

They are spouting words and phrases like "jiggery-pokery", "kerfuffle" and "knickers in a twist", says a study.

Ben Yagoda, professor emeritus of English at Delaware University, said: "Peppa Pig is very big and a lot of Britishisms are used there.
