<p><strong>A ROBOT crushed a factory worker to death after it mistook him for a box of vegetables. </strong></p>
<p>The 40-year-old man&rsquo;s face and chest were pulverised as he was grabbed by powerful robotic arms and forced against a conveyor belt. He died of horrific head and internal injuries on Tuesday.</p>
<p>It was one of two pick-and-place robots used at the distribution centre in Goseong, South Korea, which packages bell peppers and other vegetables.</p>

<p>Sensors on the bots are meant to identify boxes but something went terribly wrong for the factory worker, who was not even meant to be on shift.</p>
<p>CCTV showed the man inspecting the machine&rsquo;s sensor, with a box in his hands which may have triggered the deadly reaction, according to a police source.</p>
