<p>A SUSPECTED drink-driver tried to outfox cops by swapping seats with his pet dog.</p>
<p>Police revealed the wanted motorist put his mutt behind the wheel after being pulled over.</p>
<p>Officers stopped the car as it was doing 52mph in a 30mph zone.</p>
<p>Springfield Police in Colorado, US, wrote on Facebook: "The driver attempted to switch places with his dog who was in the passenger seat, as the officer approached and watched the entire process.</p>
<p>"The male party then exited the passenger side of the vehicle and claimed he was not driving. The&nbsp;male party showed clear signs of intoxication and, when asked about his alcohol consumption, the male party ran from the officer.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Officers said the &ldquo;lost&rdquo; driver, heading from Las Animas to Pueblo, was caught just 20 yards from the vehicle.</p>
<p>They added: &ldquo;The male party was also found to have two active&nbsp;warrants for his arrest out of Pueblo." The driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while impaired, driving under suspension, speeding and resisting arrest.</p>
<p>The police said it was as an "ongoing investigation", but the dog had been cleared.</p>
