WAYNE ROONEY vowed to keep on fighting as Leeds turned up the heat on the Birmingham boss.

The ex-England captain suffered vicious abuse from home fans due to his legendary status at their hated rivals Manchester United.

The Elland Road boos and jeers were predictable - sadly for Rooney so too was this latest surrender.

When Blues sacked John Eustace in October, they were lying sixth in the Championship.

Under Rooney, they have lost nine of their 15 games and won just two to nosedive to a 20th.

Rooney faced an angry away end at the final whistle but, when asked if he planned to battle on, said: "Of course. I'm a fighter.
