British boffins say such tribes didn't suffer from modern&nbsp;problems such as heart disease and poor mental health.
This is partly because they had healthier diets and got more exercise when foraging for food.
Boffins say to "address this imbalance, we need to move how hunter-gatherers do", such as intense interval training.
They added: "This mimics the vigorous kind of physical activity hunter-gatherers done when hunting.
"We can also benefit from moving more like hunter gatherers. Squatting and getting up and down from the ground mimic how they'd move when foraging for food.
"These movements may add years to your life."
Hunter-gatherers also had "meaning and purpose" in life.&nbsp;University of The boffs, from East London and Nottingham Trent University, said each member "belongs to a collective greater than themselves"&nbsp;
They concluded: "Making time to socialise, focusing on getting more plants in our diets and moving more often are all things we can do daily to look after our health."
