FRENCH air traffic controllers have secured the right to have a lie-in.
They will officially be allowed to turn up for their shift three hours late, meaning they can stay in bed.
The deal secured by their union, which threatened to strike during the Paris Olympics, means they can leave three hours early too.
Controllers earn up to &pound;90,000-a-year and work for 32 hours a week, although they can reportedly be in 25% less than this.
One employee insisted he regularly checked on the state of air traffic with his colleagues before&nbsp;reporting for a 9am shift and often returned to bed, saying: "I go in at 11am or later, depending on the predicted workload."
Another unnamed controller said bosses ignored lateness as long as staff were "contactable if there is a problem".
Ministers had wanted to force them to come into work on time to increase productivity. But the strike threat by the National Union of Air Traffic Controllers made them back down.
