Erika de Souza Vieira Nunes horrified staff when she wheeled Paulo Roberto Braga into the branch in Rio, Brazil, on Tuesday.
Local reports now allege it was her second attempt to withdraw cash as it emerged the authorities are investigating whether Mr Braga was poisoned.
It is claimed Nunes visited the same bank on Monday with the man.
Mr Braga, 68, had just been discharged from hospital, had an elevated heart rate and was on oxygen.
A biker who helped Nunes with Mr Braga on Monday said he was weak, but &ldquo;breathing&rdquo;.
Nunes has been charged with theft and vilification of a corpse, but her lawyer insists Mr Braga was alive when he entered the bank on Tuesday.
Ana Carla de Souza Correa said: &ldquo;We believe in Ms Erika&rsquo;s innocence.&rdquo;
A report claims a doctor suspected Mr Braga was poisoned and the body was sent for tests by the coroner&rsquo;s office.
