BRITAIN will be walloped by a "hurricane" tomorrow, as autumn's first storm brings 60mph gales, an inch of rain and floods.
Forecasters have warned howling winds from former Hurricane Lee will roar across the Atlantic from Canada, causing chaos tomorrow night and Wednesday.
Gusts of 30 to 50mph are set to hit many parts, with some areas set for 60mph. The Environment Agency&nbsp;issued flood and travel warnings after some areas were bombarded with half a month's rain in an hour.
A yellow warning for thunderstorms was issued, with rain forecast for up to an 11-day stretch in parts.
Met Office forecaster Ellie Glaisyer said: "Hurricane Lee affected Canada and by the time it reaches us it will be an extropical storm.
"It is tracking across the Atlantic towards the UK, arriving on&nbsp;Tuesday night. It is expected to bring heavy rain and wind gusts up to an isolated 60mph in north-west Scotland, with 30 to 40mph and possibly 50mph elsewhere.
"The strongest winds are likely to be on coasts. The western side of the UK will receive the heaviest rainfall. Low pressure will be in charge this week, with much fresher conditions in a marked change from recent warm weather."
