THE sports minister plans to step in over Joey Barton's sexist tirades on social media.
Stuart Andrew said he will "happily" write to social media platforms X and Facebook over the ex-footballer's "dangerous comments".
He was quizzed by Sunderland MP Julie Elliott in a Department for Culture, Media and Sport select committee over Barton's remarks levelled at female players and pundits.
Ms Elliott said the posts, mostly on X, were "very, very disturbing" Critics reckon Barton, 41, is desperately seeking publicity ahead of a podcast.&nbsp;The former Bristol Rovers manager claimed female football pundits are only in top jobs because they have slept their way there.
