HAIRY Biker Dave Myers has revealed that having chemotherapy for cancer has given him a phobia of carrots.
The TV chef said a peculiar side effect of the treatment was that he developed a fear and loathing of the vegetable, which he previously loved.
Dave, 65, says that, instead, almost the only thing he could eat for a while were dumplings in gravy, cooked by fellow Hairy&nbsp;Biker Simon King.
He went public with his diagnosis in May last year and has returned to work, but is still having treatment.
Dave told the Off Air podcast: "I've had 39 rounds of chemo, at the last count, and radiotherapy.

"At first it was dreadful because you're fighting to keep your weight up and you have no appetite and obviously nausea. But I can't eat carrots.
I've got this morbid phobia about carrots. I loved them before, but now I don't like them.
"When I was really ill Si came to stay and just left me loads of mince and dumplings good old-fashioned suet dumplings - and I enjoyed that with the gravy. Soggy on the bottom and crispy on top - perfect."
