LAGS released early to ease overcrowding in jails yesterday celebrated with Champagne.
Prisoners said they were chuffed to be out of "awful" jails as 1,750 were freed.
Cons, including including Stuart Bennett, who left HM Prison Leeds, were let out after completing just 40% of their sentences under PM Keir Starmer's attempt to ease the prison crisis. Groups of lags were seen leaving, with some joking that they are now "lifelong Labour supporters".
Others were doused in bubbly by friends who greeted them.
