RUNNER Daniel Fairbrother was stopped by police while training for the London Marathon - with a fridge on his back.
Officers spotted him racing through the streets and thought he had swiped the cooler. They were stunned when he said he was in training for a bid to break the world record for the "fastest marathon carrying a household appliance (white goods)"
Daniel, left, said the bobbies who collared him in Stevenage, Herts, soon realised he was not a fridge thief and "it ended with them shaking my hand" "They put their blue lights on, held up the traffic and stopped me to find out what on earth was going on," he said.
"Understandably they hadn't seen anything like it before."
A Hertfordshire Police spokesman said: "We would like to wish Daniel all the best with training for the marathon."
