RUSSIAN authorities have accused Ukraine of attempting to assassinate Mad Vlad in a drone attack on the Kremlin.
They claimed the incident was a "terrorist act" and its military and security forces had "disabled" two drones before they could strike.
The Kremlin said: "We consider these actions as a planned terrorist act," and added that Russia retains the right to respond "when and where it sees fit".
But Telegram channel VChKOGPU claimed the incident was a "false flag" attack by Putin's operatives. A source said: "Shooting down&nbsp;such objects above the [Kremlin] towers is prohibited by protocol, so reports of downed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are nonsense.
"There is no air defence work [shown in footage]. Or they exploded on their own.
"All this was an exercise, a performance, that they decided to pass off as a real attack." A video published on the Telegram channel showed what looked like smoke rising over the Kremlin.
There was no comment from Ukrainian authorities.
