Deflected Morsy strike keeps title race alive

IPSWICH showed they won’t exit the promotion race without a fight after a last gasp own goal earned them a deserved draw against leaders Leicester. 

With his side facing their second defeat of the Christmas programme, skipper Sam Morsy stepped forward to devastating effect – with the helping hand of a double deflection.

Morsy’s left-foot effort from the edge of the area flew up off Ricardo Pereira’s boot and struck the head of defender Jannik Vestergaard to completely wrongfoot keeper Mads Hermansen in the 93rd minute.
