"EXTREMELY powerful" men are exploiting musicians, pop star Rebecca Ferguson claims.
The X Factor runner up spoke out after saying "animals" in the industry stole money from her.
Ferguson told the Headliners podcast: "I went on a tour and it grossed quite a&nbsp;lot of money. That was going to be for me to live next to my mum, and my mum is ill.
"Then I got to the end of the tour and all the money was&nbsp;stolen. I felt like I was constantly being exploited.
"I just thought you people are animals to treat an artist this way."
Ferguson is now calling for tighter safeguarding regulations to protect other musicians from "arrogant" men.
The 37-year-old, who appeared on X Factor in 2010, added: "Men can become extremely powerful very quickly but there's no regulation in place at all for safeguarding.
"Music remains untouched [by the MeToo movement]."
