The Bank of England has handed more than 50 firms a set of scenarios replicating some of the chaos unleashed last autumn after Lettuce Liz and Kwasi Kwarteng's mini-budget.
The institutions - which also include hedge funds, insurers and asset managers will be asked to say how they would respond to a load of economic shocks.
Scenarios include big swings over 10 days in the amount that it costs the Government to borrow and a sharp increase in company borrowing costs.
