THE widow of Haiti's has been ex-president charged with plotting to kill her husband so she could replace him.
In a case rocking the Caribbean nation, a judge has charged more than 50 people over the death of Jovenel Mo&iuml;se, including his wife.
Martine Mo&iuml;se is accused of conspiring with the former prime minister Claude Joseph to kill her husband.
Mr Mo&iuml;se was shot dead when armed men broke into his home in 2021, a raid that left the former first lady injured.
The judge's order calls for the arrest and trial of those charged.
Mo&iuml;se has criticised on social media what she calls unjust arrests and political persecutions.
Mr Joseph claimed current PM Ariel Henry benefited more and was "weaponising the Haitian justice system" to "persecute opponents".
A spokesperson for Mr Henry's office said the judge was independent and "free to issue his order in accordance with the law and his conscience" The current PM was appointed to replace Joseph, who now leads an opposition party, days before the killing.
He pledged to hold elections but was forced to postpone them after a devastating earthquake and the rise of armed criminal gangs.
