GYMS are replacing pubs as the place to go for a night out.

Health-mad Gen Z-ers reckon exercise is also the best way to socialise with mates.

Nearly a quarter (23%) of 18 to 24-year-olds said chilling with pals was one of the main reasons they work out together.

And 42% have made friends while pumping iron, according to a poll by The Gym Group.
