MICHAEL Mosley's wife said her family were taking comfort from the fact he "so very nearly made it" after the telly doctor's body was found in Greece.
Dr Clare Bailey Mosley paid tribute to her "wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband" whose body was discovered just 260ft from a beach resort after walking up a mountain on the island of Symi.
She said he had attempted "an incredible climb", taken the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn't be easily seen by rescuers. His body was found in a rocky cave area beside Agia Marina - known as The Abyss - by bar manager Ilias Tsavaris who was alerted by the island's mayor.
