TOM HOLMES feared he may never play again after a cancer scare plunged him into the unknown.
But the Bradford star made a remarkable recovery and capped his surprise comeback with a try in Sunday's 14-13 loss against Widnes.
Back in January, after his health rapidly deteriorated, Holmes revealed doctors believed he had a rare form of cancer called Subcutaneous Panniculitis-Like T-cell Lymphoma (SPTCL).
The former Castleford and Huddersfield scrum-half, 28, said: "I had loads of symptoms - lumps all over my body, night sweats and was constantly tired.
"I had five biopsies, a bone marrow biopsy and was just back and forth with hospitals.
"It was mentally and physically draining, especially for my partner and kids.
"My partner has been amazing and the club were great with me too.
