CHRISTIAN Horner says his alleged sexting scandal has been a "very trying period" that has put his marriage with Spice Girls star Geri under strain.
It came on the same day that the F1 team suspended the Red Bull boss's accuser.
A defiant Horner told a press conference in Saudi Arabia: "It's obviously been a very trying period. I'm very fortunate that I have a very supportive wife.
"It's very trying, it's very challenging. When there's children involved, parents, families, it's not pretty." Horner, 50, was accused of inappropriate behaviour with a female colleague.
He denied the claims and Red Bull's board dismissed the complaint after an internal probe.
But a day later 79 screenshots of intimate texts and photos allegedly sent by Horner were leaked.
Red Bull were blasted for suspending the female employee yesterday. One social media user wrote: "If this is true I'm 100% done with this team." Another said they "should both be suspended until the matter is crystal clear".
Horner has vowed to continue in his &pound;8million-ayear job despite the scandal.
The female employee has a right to appeal but it is not clear whether she has chosen to do so yet.
A spokesperson for Red Bull said: "We are unable to comment on an internal employee matter."
