The ruthless leader and his foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian were wiped out in the accident on a remote hillside near Azerbaijan.
Rescue teams confirmed there was no evidence of survivors in the wreckage.
Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is the nation’s top dog, quickly named vice president Mohammad Mokhber as caretaker.
