GHOSTS with Scottish accents were heard swearing in a 930-year-old fortress near Hadrian's Wall, a paranormal expert claims.
Tony Ferguson visited Carlisle Castle with his team of ghoul hunters and was left spooked by eerie voices.
The English Heritage castle was built by William II in 1092 and it played a key role in the Wars of Scottish Independence in the 13th and 14th centuries.
Tony, 38, said: "We caught several unexplained&nbsp;things here. I was blown away by the activity we had in such a small amount of time."
While in the corridors of the castle in Cumbria, a male voice said "Go" twice then Tony heard a muffled noise.
Tony, of Lymington, Hants, added that the voice sounded "like someone with a deep Scottish accent".
He went on: "A couple of minutes later a female&nbsp;voice was caught laughing and then she said, 'F*** you! Again it sounded like someone with a Scottish accent.
"Overall, there were so many things we could not explain.
"We are looking to return early next year to set up a few experiments plus set up CCTV to see what we capture."
