SOMETIMES in football, fortune favours the brave.
Arne Slot displayed that trait at the City Ground last night. And he was rewarded - as was Forest keeper Matz Sels, whose inspired last 25 minutes somehow ensured a share of the spoils.
Liverpool's boss decided to roll the dice as it appeared stacked against him and in so doing he prevented Forest chief Nuno Espirito Santo from blowing the title race wide open.
Trailing to a goal from Chris Wood, the Reds were desperately seeking a route back into a game that had been frustratingly out of their reach.
But Slot turned to his subs' bench - swapped a defender with a forward - and it paid off as Diogo Jota scored with his first touch.
The substitution looked like it should have swung the game in Liverpool's favour as the visitors began to push forward in waves.
But an inspired last quarter from keeper Sels, who saved twice more from Jota and produced another fine stop from Mo Salah helped Forest hold on. And he wasn't done there.
