BRITISH No.1 Katie Boulter thanked boy friend Alex de Minaur for dashing across the border to watch her win a first WTA 500 tournament.
The 27-year-old came from behind to claim the San Diego Open title on Sunday with a 5-7 6-2 6-2 win over Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk and earn a second career title.
Her victory was watched by De Minaur, who defended his Mexican Open title in Acapulco the previous day before scheduling an early-morning flight to support her.
"I want to say a small special thank you to my boyfriend," said Boulter, who was presented with a surfboard after sealing victory.
