THE Kinks' guitarist Dave Davies is fretting over claims his iconic You Really Got Me riff may have been played by Jimmy Page.
The 77-year-old was livid after record producer Eddie Kramer - an assistant engineer on the session - told Guitar World mag that he remembered Page "doing an overdub" on the 1964 hit.
Page was a session musician before joining Led Zeppelin four years later.
Within hours of the article being published, Dave took to social media to vent his fury, writing: "I demand an immediate retraction from Guitar World. I played all the guitar parts on YRGM."
Guitar World responded by posting a clip from the recorded interview with Kramer about the chart-topper.
