A &pound;7,000 bill for heated bog seats at a town hall is causing a stink.
Waltham Forest Council has been accused of flushing taxpayers' cash down the loo after coughing up &pound;7,632 on 12 bum-warmers, which also act as bidets.
Tory London Assembly Member Emma Best said on X: "Maybe I missed something but I'm not sure heated seats for councillors to do their business was top of residents' wish list when Labour raised council tax last year."
Fellow Tory, Councillor Jaymey McIvor, replied: "It's exactly what residents tell me they want. What. A. Joke."
Waltham Forest Council, in north London, said the loos - at &pound;636 each cost "considerably more than a standard toilet seat and bidet" but were fitted to help improve the hall as an events space.
A council spokesman said: "These toilets are more comfortable for people with a number of conditions."
