MONSOON Britain faces chaos as thunderstorms and flash floods threaten to catch millions off guard in sweltering temperatures.
Forecasters issued severe weather warnings for strong winds, lightning and hail from northern Scotland to the south coast today.
The weekend already saw storms sweep the country, with forked lightning caught on camera in Sandown Bay, Isle of Wight, in our main pic.
The high temperatures are not going anywhere, with peaks of 30C expected until Wednesday in the south.
But the rising humidity is also set to cause outbreaks of thunder and lightning.
The Met Office warned drivers to prepare for tough conditions in the worst-affected areas.
It said: "Thunderstorms and torrential downpours may bring disruption to parts of England and Wales.
"Flooding of homes and businesses could happen&nbsp;quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds."
There could even be power cuts and "fast-flowing floodwater, causing a danger to life, according to the Met Office warning.
