Nessie Macdonald, 29, rescued Horseman Thief Pouter pigeon Nigel when he was found in a bad state after drinking too much beer.
After a few days of rehab she tried to set him free, but the friendly bird refused to fly away. Nessie has now spent a year domesticating Nigel, armed with sunflower seeds, and he freely travels with her around town.
Nessie, right, of Hebden Bridge, West Yorks, said: &ldquo;I got Nigel after he drank the beer off the top of the pint glasses and was spectacularly drunk.
