In his book, Why Beethoven: A Phenomenon In 100 Pieces, Lebrecht writes: &ldquo;One of Beethoven&rsquo;s contemporaries could only have sex with his wife if they visited a brothel.
&ldquo;When Beethoven was invited by a friend to a brothel, he makes it clear that he has no intention of attending.&rdquo;
