JOBSWORTH councils have cracked down on kids' favourite activities like feeding ducks, flying kites and climbing trees.

Power-crazed Town Hall killjoys are increasingly taking advantage of antisocial behaviour laws, introduced in 2014, to curb outdoor fun.

A Freedom of Information request discovered 13,443 on-the-spot fines of £100 have been issued for "petty" offences, including playing ball games.

The figures were unearthed by the Manifesto Club, a civil liberties group.

Director Josie Appleton said: "This legislation is so badly drafted that it has led to a free-for-all for any council official who wants to ban anything."
