PENNY Mordaunt is still the bookies' favourite to succeed Boris "Bozo" Johnson, despite Rishi Sunak beating her in the second Tory leadership ballot.
The bitter race to be the next Prime Minister is down to five hopefuls after Mordaunt and Sunak again topped voting by Conservative MPs.
Alex Apati, from Ladbrokes, told the Daily Star: "All eyes are on Mordaunt at this stage, as far as the betting, despite Rishi's popularity with the Tories."
The bookie has 8/13 odds on Mordaunt to take over, with Sunak at 10/3. Liz Truss, Kemi Badenoch and Tom Tugendhat also clinched enough votes to make the third round on Monday.
Channel 4 will host a TV debate today after Sunak pulled in 101 votes yesterday, to Mordaunt's Braverman 83. Suella was the latest candidate to crash out.
The ballot has faced accusations of smears, dirty tricks and web domain hijacking by rival candidates.
