YOUTUBE is going to war with online quacks touting dodgy health advice.
The platform is bringing in a Twitter-style "blue tick" that verifies doctors are for real.
Medics and charities will be able to apply for the blue tick, which will also put them at the top of YouTube's search results once their professional registration has been checked out.
Chancers who spread misleading medical information will be weeded out.
It comes after the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, the standards group for doctors,&nbsp;drew up online guidelines for medical professionals.
The academy's Alastair Henderson said: "With so many people turning to online sources for health advice, it's important the information they get is accurate, and evidence-based." Vishaal Virani, head of health at YouTube, said: "There's no point trying to tackle misinformation without high-quality information to push up!"&nbsp;
