PM Rishi Sunak called the Iranian strikes di "dangerous and unnecessary", warning the damage to regional stability would have been "hard to overstate" if they had got through.

The UK joined the US overnight into fa Sunday deploying warplanes to help intercept missiles after Iran launched its first fa direct assault on Israeli soil. All but a handful were shot down. Speaking to journalists in Downing Street yesterday, Mr Sunak called for "calm heads to prevail" in the aftermath.
