Four years ago, the former Wigan striker played his last game for the Latics, having twice been promoted and twice relegated in his four seasons at the DW Stadium.

He failed to spark following a move to Sunderland and found himself loaned out to MK Dons and Rotherham.
Having spent his entire career in League One and the Championship, it was a surprise to many fans when the 32-year-old decided to gamble by dropping down to tier five of the pyramid six months ago to join his former Wigan manager Paul Cook (inset) on a three-year deal at Chesterfield.
“He had a massive role,” said Grigg. “For me to drop down to National League it had to be something special.
