A BUILDER who claimed a surgeon's mistake left him disabled could face jail after he was caught lying.
Sean Murphy, 38, sued the NHS, alleging an operation on his bicep after a rugby injury resulted in him being unable to work or dress himself.
But his claim unravelled after Wye Valley NHS Trust bosses were tipped off that he was lying, with Facebook photos and videos showing him back on the pitch and lifting heavy weights in the gym.

One clip showed him using a three-stone kettlebell, despite claiming the most he could lift was an empty kettle. His &pound;580,000 damages claim was kicked out last year and Mr Murphy, from Ross-onWye, Herefords, faces a &pound;100,000-plus court bill.

At trial in October, judge James Healy-Pratt dismissed Mr Murphy's claim, branding it "fundamentally dishonest". He could face jail for potential contempt of court, with a High Court judge saying there was a "very strong" case Mr Murphy had lied to boost a "grossly exaggerated" damages claim.
Mr Murphy has denied the allegations.
