A DEPRESSED slave robot is feared to have killed itself by leaping down a flight of stairs. The civil service cyborg – which looked like a white bin with a screen on its side – was designed to deliver documents to residents. But the bored bot ended its “life” by throwing itself down a stairwell in South Korea. It was found “smashed up” after its fatal fall. An official for Gumi council, in the south-east of South Korea, said a probe had been launched. They said the pieces “will be analysed”. Staff said the robot had “helped with document deliveries and delivered information to local residents” – with one pen-pusher adding: “It was one of us. It worked diligently.” It was put into action last year and worked from 9am to 6pm, and was designed to be smart enough to call a lift to move between floors by itself.
