UKRAINE has found an unlikely ally in the war with Russia &ndash; a British tank museum.&nbsp;
History boffins are helping Ukrainian forces by supplying them with old manuals and parts needed for their ageing armoured fleet.
Both Ukraine and Russia are using Cold War-era military vehicles. When they drive over mines their tracks come off, but while Russia&rsquo;s tanks are rendered useless Ukraine&rsquo;s are&nbsp;returning to the battlefield after the UK Government tasked specialist defence companies with supplying parts and upgrades for them.
The Tank Museum in Dorset delved into its archives and dug out old manuals and parts.

These include MTLB, BMP1 and T72 armoured vehicles that were originally in service when Ukraine was part of the USSR. Ukrainian forces stationed at nearby Bovington Camp in Dorset are training on tanks at the museum.
Museum curator David Willey has supplied plans to Sheffield-based armoured vehicles manufacturer Cook Defence Systems which is re-engineering tanks.
Mr Willey said: &ldquo;It has been an honour to play a small part in helping our allies in their war.&rdquo;
