<p><strong>A RUDE road sign is being put back up despite angry locals campaigning to axe it.&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p>The road marker on Slag Lane in Westbury, Wilts, mysteriously went missing after years of calls from locals for a name change.</p>
<p>They don&rsquo;t like the sexual connotation despite the road originally being named after the slag piles from the town&rsquo;s iron works. There were suggestions angry residents removed the sign in protest after their demand for a rebrand was rejected.</p>
<p>But there were also calls on&nbsp;a local Facebook group for the signs to be reinstated.</p>

<p>One user said: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s been that name for years, what&rsquo;s the problem?&rdquo;</p>
<p>Another said: &ldquo;Why buy or rent a home in a lane with a name you don&rsquo;t like?&rdquo;</p>
<p>Wiltshire Council said: &ldquo;New signs will be installed early in the new year.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Despite locals claiming the name of the street was inappropriate, the town council decided not to rename it Lakeside View in 2014.&nbsp;</p>
