Garry shows his martial art is in the right place

'THE FUTURE' is more than just a nickname to lan Machado Garry - it is something he cares passionately about improving for the next generation.

To further that endeavour, the UFC rising star recently teamed up with 'Gloves Not Gunz' to put on a mixed martial arts masterclass.

The organisation's aim is to "prevent and divert young people from crime and antisocial behaviour through building positive relationships, education, diversion activities and community cohesion." 

Making the trip to their base at Norbury Park in South London, it was the smiles on the kids' faces that stood out to me the most as the undefeated welterweight entertained, enthralled and educated a jam-packed gym of local youngsters.

The Dubliner said: "It was an absolute pleasure to be here. It was so much fun. Any sort of club, whether that's martial arts or football, should be enjoyable, especially for kids.
