FORMER Watford manager Dave "Harry" Bassett was sacked by Sir Elton John on the roll of a giant fluffy dice.
The Rocket Man, 76, who was chairman and owner of the club, appointed Wimbledon boss Bassett in 1987 after a successful period under manager Graham Taylor.
But the results were not good and Bassett, 79, knew when his time was up. He told the Under The Cosh pod-&nbsp;cast: "It was Christmas and I knew it was looming.
"John Reid [Elton's manager] didn't live too far from where I did.
"Anyway, we're talking and Elton says, 'Have a glass of champagne, Harry.&nbsp;Things are hard.
"I'm thinking: 'F***ing hell, how's he gon na do this?' Anyway, we went in this lounge.
"He said, 'Harry, you see that cushion that's&nbsp;beside you? We're gonna have a game with that. It's like a dice. He goes: 'Come on, Harry - one to five, you get the sack!
"I said, 'What are you gonna do if I get a six?' "He said: 'It's obvious, Harry. You another have f***ing throw."
The pair had a good relationship with Bassett calling Elton "a brilliant fella".
