LONG shot Mike De Decker almost quit darts after losing his Tour card five years ago - now he is a major champion after a week that changed his life.
In a massive shock at Leicester's Mattioli Arena, 100-1 outsider De Decker banked the first TV major of his career with a 6-4 win against world No.1 Luke Humphries in the World Grand Prix final.
The £120,000 top prize catapulted the Belgian into the top 25 of the Professional Darts Corporation's order of merit.
World champion 'Cool Hand' joked his fiancee, Kayley Jones, would be pleased he was not bringing yet another trophy home after winning five majors in the previous 12 months.
