THE secret of the legendary "Pharaoh's Curse" may finally be solved as experts reckon radioactive materials are lingering in unopened tombs.

The opening of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 by Howard Carter resulted in a string of deaths among the people involved in the excavation. Four, including the man who funded the excavation, died between four months and 16 years later.

Many believe a curse was placed on the site to stop anyone from digging out the rest of the hidden tombs.
