A MAN voted the ugliest person in Zimbabwe has died on the toilet.
Maison Sere, 51, became an international celebrity after he won the pageant in 2015.
But Mr Ugly rivals accused him of being too good-looking to be awarded the coveted title and &pound;500 prize.
Yet Sere won the contest three more times.
The money he collected was regarded as a princely sum in a country where there is big unemployment. But after his success, Sere admitted suffering from a drink and drugs problem.
He died in the middle of relieving himself at home in Mabvuku and Danny, a friend of the family, claimed his death was probably linked to the use of substances.
The pal added that, when the money ran out, Sere became a regular visitor at funerals for the free booze.
Danny added: "There was no funeral gathering around Mabvuku that he didn't attend for beer only."
Rivals said that as Sere was missing many teeth&nbsp;he did not qualify as being genuinely ugly.
