A LEGENDARY gay penguin whose love story featured on Netflix has died - leaving his beloved partner grief-stricken.Sphen a gentoo penguin and his boyfriend Magic shot to fame in 2018 thanks to their relationship at an aquarium in Sydney, Australia.The pair were hailed as icons by gay equality campaigners and they recently celebrated -six years together, as well as successfully adopting and raising two chicks.Their story has featured in books and in the Netflix series Atypical as well as being included in the Aussie education syllabus.Richard Dilly, manager of the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, said: "The loss of Sphen is heartbreaking to the penguin colony, the team and everyone who has been inspired or positively impacted by Sphen and Magic's story." Magic, eight, is said to have started singing after realising his partner had gone, prompting other penguins to join in the tribute.Sphen is believed to have died of natural causes in August shortly before his 12th birthday.
