BANK of England bosses were branded hypocrites after giving staff £25million in bonuses – while urging pay restraint for the rest of us.
Officials were awarded up to £22,500 on top of their regular salaries in the past year.
That’s despite the Bank being panned for its handling of the cost-of-living crisis crippling struggling Brits.
Unison assistant general secretary Jon Richards told the Daily Star last night: “Andrew Bailey has urged wage restraint, but clearly that doesn’t apply at the Bank of England.
“Most teaching assistants earn less than £22,500 a year.”
